All non-disabled adults would get medical care from the Affordable Care Unit. These were the adults that received a low income only. There were various goals ACA had when it was enacted. These included reducing the number of uninsured residents in the state. It also ensured that low income earners would access healthcare. Through ACA personal responsibility and value-based decision making was promoted. There was a lot of focus in promoting prevention and primary care through ACA. Another goal was to ensure that there was efficiency in the management of the program. Fiscal responsibility was also promoted. After ACA was enacted it worked to ensure that adequate health care services were provided. Secondary treatments were also used to prevent progression of chronic diseases.
There was expansion of coverage to those parents with dependant children who had low income after the ACA was approved. There reached a point when individuals with a high income were eligible for tax credits. In this case they were in a position to purchase coverage through new health insurance marketplace. These were a result of ACA. A personal wellness and responsibility account was developed. This account was used to cover any initial medical costs. This account provided incentives for those people that utilized services in a cost-effective manner. There was creation of an account of preventive care. Individuals in this case were covered up to a certain percentage. This made sure that there were no deductibles and there was no withdraw from the power account. By obtaining preventive care they would be able to carry over state power account contributions. There were minimal cases of patients who went straight to the emergency room for medical care. This led to the reduction of premature deaths. Instead people booked appointments with physicians.
President Trump decided to come up with new laws when the congress refused to replace and repeal the ACA. He ordered the departments of health, Labor and human services to propose regulations. This was to expand the types of plans for individuals and small businesses. This would allow more small employers with few employees to form association health plans. It would also allow them to sell low-cost and short-term insurance.
Payments that were made to insurers were also cut down. In this case this applied to those policyholders who earned moderate income. In this case insurance companies will have to come up with ways of recovering the money they were promised. There was an executive order signed by Trump that would make it easy for people to access different health types. This was to benefit those people that buy their own insurance.
