The Ford Fiesta is a great subcompact. In its sixth generation, it’s one of America’s most popular small cars. Coming in 4-door hatchback and sedan versions, the Fiesta is available in a range of interior and exterior colors. From frugal and basic to sporty and luxurious, there’s a car for everyone.
Options and Standard Features
The Ford Fiesta’s sedan and hatchback come in Titanium, S, or SE trim; however, the high-performance ST is only available as a hatchback. The S starts out with 15” wheels, power locks and mirrors, keyless entry, hill start assist, AC, adjustable seats, a backup camera, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, tilt/telescoping steering, and a six-speaker audio system.
The SE gets 15” alloys, automatic headlights, interior accent lights, cruise control, a center console with an armrest, a trip computer, and a leather-covered steering wheel. It also comes with the MyKey add-on that allows owners to set limits on other drivers. The SE Appearance package comes with 16” alloys, a rear spoiler, fog lights, satellite radio, USB inputs, and much more. Some features that are standard on higher trims are available as options on lower-tier models. Individual options include navigation, a sporty body kit, a sunroof, and remote start (on auto transmission models).
All the Fiesta’s models have seven airbags: side curtain, driver’s knee, front, and front side. Then, there are the required antilock brakes, along with traction and stability controls. The NHTSA gives the Ford Fiesta four out of five stars, including the all-important front impact test. The IIHS gives the car its highest rating of Good in every category except for small overlap frontal impact testing.
The Fiesta’s suspension is tight, yet it absorbs enough bumps to yield a comfortable ride. When a vehicle has as much agility as this one does, its peppy engine is just the icing on the cake. While the five-speed manual gearbox is delightful, most drivers will likely choose the six-speed dual clutch automatic.
As shown here, there’s a lot for buyers to like about the new Ford Fiesta’s various versions. Visit a local dealership or call to schedule a test drive.
